This unit forms part of the automated production line end of line, this allows both feed back of any process errors with the lid sealing process and also can be used to capture metrics on peformance if the production control system is intregrated with ERP or other data colleciton products this unit pictured is controled by a servo to allow a wide selection of products to be tested with out any operator intervention, and using a specifically designed leak test sensor it is capable of maintaining the production rate and not impact on the quality of the test..
Other options are available for pressure testing. We can offer both positive and negitive pressure tests, and with servo control we can profide a truely one touch change over, speeding the process of switching product and minimising the risk of operator error and machine damage.

When heat welding any plastic its common to end up with excess plastic spilling out from the melt area, this in some cases can be unsightly and needs to be trimmed off.

The process of destacking a stacking plates is a challange that is often over simplified
We at mechtek dont take the task lightly and see this as the first of a set of very important stages in the production of a lead acid battery.
If this process is right, everything else is easier, so a lot of time and effort goes into the hardware design and the software control of this part of the machine, because not only do we want to make a good machine but we want to make one thats robust and productive.
Our philosophy is good engineering will yeald good results. Where the plate feeders can be the same, we make them the same. It makes good sense. We use the same size motor on a elevator thats lifting 15 Kg as one thats lifting 250Kgs. Its over spec you could say but it makes the spares required to maintain the machine simpler.
Our control system for the plate feeder is far and away a leader in this field, we have auto catch up, where if the plate feeder has no plates due to it not being kept full by an operator the line will not make a bad cell or abort a cell, but it will hold station and when plates are available it will catch up and continue on taking the pressure off the upstream supply and preventing producing out of spec cells and running invalid production
The plate feeders are equipped with servo controled elevators to present the stacks at the perfect height, they have servo driven pickup arms for catchup and other control functions, and also twin contra rotating wire brushes that clean the plate tabs

Contact UsDescription - The SEPCOM is a machine composed by a feed device (feeding hopper or a compensator tank depending on whether the material is conveyed mechanically or pumped), a separator casing including a screw conveyor and a cylindrical screen, a compacted solid material outlet module and one or two separated liquid outlets. The drive unit and basement complete the machine.
Function - SEPCOM is a solids-liquid separating machine including a screw conveyor. Using both principles of separation, by gravity and by mechanical pressing, the machine is designed to separate the liquid phase from the solid phase in a wide range of substances such as sludge, sewage, manure, solids-liquid mixtures, vegetables, processing waste and others, where the percentage of liquid inside the solid may be considerably different. The separated solid and liquid phases can be handled in an easier and cheaper way. In some sectors this can even become a source of income.
Operation - The machine receives the material to be separated and conveys it using the screw conveyor inside the separator casing. The liquid phase is separated through the mesh of the cylindrical screen which encloses the screw conveyor. Along its path toward the exit, the material gradually separates progressively the less linked liquid and then the more strongly linked liquid until a plug of almost dry material has formed before the outlet. The plug is continuously expelled through the outlet diaphragm. The machine will automatically find its balance of squeezing force depending on the material. Consequently, it can be used for a wide range of materials without the need for any manual adjustments.

Description - The TSB Combined Mechanical Effluent Pre-treatment Plant carries out up different processes: de-watering and compaction of screened solid waste, separation of sand and removal of floating greasy matter.
Function - The sewage from cesspool tanks / interceptors or industrial plants collected by special tankers, has to be pre-treated before it can be introduced into any kind of purification system. This treatment removes solids, sand and greasy matter that is present in the sewage to avoid overloading of the system.

Description - The GRITSEP DS Grit Classifiers consist of an inclined screw conveyor with a large volume hopper including an inlet spout and a water outlet spout, a shaftless screw housed in a trough, a low friction anti-wear trough liner, a trough cover, an outlet spout for solid particles, and a drive unit mounted at the outlet end.
Function - Water to be cleaned flows through the inlet spout of the GRITSEP Grit Classifier into the decantation hopper where sedimentation of the solid particles is taking place. The low screw rotation speed improves sedimentation and sees to conveying and discharging of de-watered material through the upper outlet. Cleaned water exits through the lateral hopper discharge spout.

Description - The GCP is a Screw Screen that consists of a screen basket, a conveyor screw, and a compaction section. GE is almost identical with GCP but misses the compaction section. It is suitable for applications where screenings may not or cannot be compacted.
Function - The process starts in the screen that holds back solids only. The internal part of the screen is continuously cleaned by brushes fixed on the outside diameter of the flighting. As the water runs through the screen the shaftless spiral conveys the solids up towards the compaction module where the material is further de-watered. Depending to the material properties, screenings can be reduced by more than 50% of their original volume.

The volume of the screenings is strongly reduced (depending on the type of use, screenings reduction of up to 40% in volume can be obtained). Solids-Liquid Separation Equipment

Description - The KCS Silo Safety System for the safeguarding of silos consists of a central electronic monitoring and control unit which manages a series of silos and a component kit including, in the basic version one power panel for each silo, a silo pipe connection, a pinch valve, a tanker coupling with the filing pipe, a maximum level indicator, a differential pressure switch or electronic pressure meter, a pressure gauge for the venting filter, a pressure relief valve, and an audible alarm.
Function - The KCS Silo Safety System can be used for silos which are filled by tanker with powders or granular materials. Damage to the silo or its accessories is most likely during the operation of filling from tankers. This is due to the risk of overfilling or excess pressurisation. The KCS system, supplied in component form, prevents both overfilling and excess pressurisation, thus avoiding damage to the silo, to the venting filter or other accessories, and reducing the risk of dust emission into the atmosphere.

Description - WBH Horizontal Single Shaft Batch Mixers consist of a mixing drum vessel with an inlet, an outlet with discharge valve and a venting spout, a mixing shaft, two drum closing end plates that carry flanged end bearing assemblies complete with integrated adjustable shaft sealing unit, and a drive unit complete with power transmission. Ploughshare or inclined blade-type shovel tools rotate as mixing tools in a special arrangement on the mixer shaft in a horizontal, cylindrical drum. The result is a turbulence in the mix that constantly involves all the product particles in the mixing process. The formation of dead spots or slow-movement zones in the mixing drum is prevented ensuring precise mixing. In some cases, to obtain the desired mixing effect, separately driven high-speed choppers can be installed.
Function - The Horizontal Single Shaft WBH Batch Mixer is based on the principle of mechanical fluidisation of the product. The particular shape, position and rotation speed of the mixing tools, creates a centrifugal vortex motion, which allows the materials to be projected in a three-dimensional way and to merge with each other. This ensures that components with a different particle size and bulk density are perfectly blended and mixed with high precision within the shortest possible time. WBH Batch-type Mixers are used for mixing dry powders, granules or short fibres, for moistening, agglomerating or granulating the same materials, or for mixing liquids or pastes with low viscosity.

Description - MESC-type Twin Shaft Paddle Mixers (MESC-UM as conditioner with liquid injection) are equipped with two parallel counter-rotating intermeshing paddle shafts. Description - MU Live Bin Bottoms (Multiple Screw Feeders) are equipped with a modular trough which encloses up to 6 shafted helicoid flight or paddle screws, flanged external, fully protected end bearing assemblies complete with manually adjustable packing gland and shaft seal, a rectangular outlet spout covering the entire width of the unit, bolted end plates, splined shaft couplings for medium-heavy-duty, flanged shaft couplings for heavy-duty version. Furthermore, MU Live Bin Bottoms are equipped with one gear motor per screw shaft or, depending on the application, with a drive unit driving more screws.
Function - MU Live Bin Bottoms are used to discharge difficult materials from polygonal hoppers/silos. In particular they are used for the extraction of biological or industrial sludge, paper scrap, wood chippings, sawdust, flour or bran in flour milling.

Description - The CMC Screw Conveyors are manufactured from carbon steel with a suitable surface finishing. They are made up from a U-shape trough with a wear-resistant rubber drop bottom. CMC has an outlet spout at one trough end, an end plate at each trough end, helicoid screw flighting welded on a centre pipe with a coupling bush at each end, two end bearing assemblies complete with shaft sealing unit, and a bolted trough cover. Furthermore, CMC Screw Conveyors are equipped with a gear motor that suits the application. The inlet zone is equipped with adjustable mixing paddles.
Function - CMC Screw Conveyors are used in the precast concrete industry to convey fresh concrete from the compulsory mixer to the moulds as an alternative to belt conveyors that, unlike screw conveyors, bear the risk of segregation of the concrete. To keep the concrete homogeneous and to reduce the absorbed drive power the mixing paddles in the inlet zone are adjustable. By changing the angle of the paddles the concrete throughput rate can be altered. Due to the rubber drop bottom trough large aggregate particles that end up between screw and trough will not block the unit as the rubber will let them pass. The drop bottom can be quickly opened and closed for cleaning and easily replaced when worn out.

Description - The MBF Micro-Batch Feeder for continuous volumetric feeding of powdery or granular materials consists of a steel-reinforced SINT engineering polymer body (optional body entirely manufactured in stainless steel), a horizontally mounted rotating agitator tool, a feeder screw beneath the agitator tool, a feeder pipe enclosing the protruding feeder screw, one drive unit each for agitator and feeder screw. Tests on product flow and material stress have been carried out to establish optimum body geometry. Agitator and feeder tool geometry and materials have also been tested before choosing an optimal steel and engineering SINT polymer composite. MBF series Micro-Batch Feeders are supplied in food-grade versions with FDA-approval on request.
Function - MBF series Micro-Batch Feeders for powder and granular product feeding are particularly suitable for poorly flowing materials which tend to clog, along with adhesive products. Fed through a bag opening hopper, a bulk bag discharger, or another feeding device, the agitator tool manages to keep the material flowing reducing at the same time the possibility of formation of lumps or bridges. The size of the product particles is of utmost importance when choosing the type of feeder screw. For example, fine, heavy materials call for tapered screws with reduced pitch flights, while granular, lighter materials require standard pitch cylindrical screws. Poorly flowing products with cohesion or bridging problems are homogeneously fed into the feeding zone by the blending shaft which is shaped according to the product properties. Depending on the users individual requirements, MBF Micro-Batch Feeders can be supplied with alternative feeder screws and blending tools and with various accessories. Description - The VE Vertical Screw Lift System consists of a Horizontal Screw Feeder and a Vertical Screw Conveyor. The Horizontal Screw Feeder, which may feed material from a silo or hopper or simply convey it being fed by an upstream feeding device, consists of a U-shape or tubular trough in carbon steel with appropriate surface finishing. In any case the outlet zone consists of a short tubular section flanged at a right angle on the bottom section of the Vertical Screw Conveyor. A flange is welded at each end of the Horizontal Screw Feeder. The trough / tube contains a rotating screw with shaft coupling bushes at each end that are connected with the shafts of the two end bearing assemblies.
The Horizontal Screw Feeder is equipped with one or more intermediate hanger bearings should its overall length require any. Furthermore, it is equipped with a drive unit suitable for the application. The Vertical Screw Conveyor consists of a tubular housing complete with a tangential inlet in the bottom section which connects with the outlet of the Horizontal Screw Feeder, an inclined outlet spout in the top section, end flanges welded on each conveyor tube section, a rotating screw in one or more sections with shaft coupling bush at each end, a base bearing assembly complete with slide bush, and a number of intermediate hanger bearings should the overall height of the conveyor require any. The top-mounted drive unit with integrated end bearing assembly (from which the screw is suspended) and self-adjusting shaft sealing unit is suitable for the application. The VE Vertical Screw Lift System is available in a medium-heavy-duty version only.
Function - The VE Vertical Screw Lift System consists of two units: a Horizontal Screw Feeder which receives material from a silo, hopper, or another feeder or conveyor, and a Vertical Screw Conveyor that lifts the material to a certain level. Material may be discharged into a weigh hopper, into one or more bins or silos, or into another conveyor or conveying system. Fabricated components, screws, and bearing assemblies have been specially designed for this system to facilitate maintenance. The VE Vertical Screw Lift System, which excels through high volumetric efficiency and excellent mechanical features, was patented in various countries in the 1980's.

Description - The SSC Shaftless Screw or Spiral Conveyor is an alternative concept to the traditional shafted screw conveyor. Material is conveyed by an extra-heavy-duty shaftless screw that slides on a low friction, wear resistant liner inside the conveyor trough housing. The U-section troughs, which are longitudinally divided, are manufactured in carbon steel or in 304 L /316 L stainless steel, including an appropriate surface treatment. Fabricated parts except the screw, which is ultra-heavy-duty, are of the medium-heavy-duty type. The cross section of the lower part of the trough is slightly wider than the side channels to allow for the liner to be inserted in the lower trough part. After complete assembly of the trough the liner is kept in place by the upper trough side channels. At one trough end there is a vertical or flush-type outlet. At the drive end the screw conveyor is equipped with an end plate holding the end bearing assembly with flanged shaft coupling with the screw. The drive unit installed suits the application. The SSC can be loaded from above into the open trough (standard), or through an inlet spout included in a bolted trough cover (option), or from the side through a special side inlet in the loading zone of the trough (option).
Function - The Shaftless Screw (spiral) offers a larger volume capacity and the possibility of handling particularly difficult materials such as those that tend to become tangled up or those that present highly variable particle size. Construction material properties, oversize thickness, as well as a special manufacturing process make the spiral highly resistant and extremely durable. Due to the absence of intermediate bearings, obstacle-free material handling is guaranteed. The completely enclosed trough prevents any material leakage. Trough covers with appropriate gaskets enable odour-free operation and form a barrier to any atmospheric agents to enter the system. At the same time the conveyor offers maximum access to the inside for inspection and cleaning. Maintenance is reduced to the minimum due to a small number of components. There is a vast choice of liners depending on the specific material characteristics. SSC Shaftless Screw (Spiral) Conveyors have been specially designed for handling of difficult heterogeneous materials like urban solid waste, screenings and floating matter, de-watered, thickened, conditioned sludge, packaged food, creams or pastes, waste from:meat, fish, fruit and vegetable processing. The main sectors of application are: wastewater treatment, sugarhouse rejects, fish industry, solid waste treatment, fruit and vegetable processing plants, beverage industry, pulp and paper, chemical industry, food industry in general, meat processing plants, abattoirs/slaughterhouses, restaurants, canteens, catering in general.

Description - The modular CA Trough Screw Conveyor system is highly versatile offering numerous solutions for conveying powdery or granular materials. CA Screw Conveyors are manufactured from carbon steel with a suitable surface finishing. They are made up from a U or V-shape trough that is equipped with at least one outlet spout, an end plate at each trough end, helicoid screw flighting welded on a centre pipe with a coupling bush at each end, two end bearing assemblies complete with shaft sealing unit, a certain number of intermediate hanger bearings depending on the overall length of the screw conveyor, and bolted trough cover sections. Furthermore, CA Trough Screw Conveyors are equipped with a gear motor that suits the application. Depending on the material to be handled CA Trough Screw Conveyors come in a light, medium-heavy, or extra-heavy-duty design. All types are available with ATEX, zone 22 certification.
Function - The light-duty version, CA L, is mainly used to convey powders or granular materials in the production of pet-food, in the plastics industry, and in soap, washing powder and detergentprocessing. Description - Chain or Drag Conveyors are designed for conveying dry solids such as free flowing powders, granules, pellets and flakes. The hot-galvanised flanged casing consists of a tail and a head section, as well as a number of modular intermediate sections. The tail and the head section contain drag and transmission roller. The design facilitates assembly and maintenance. The drive unit is coupled on the drag roller by means of a direct geared motor or a chain transmission. Depending on the characteristics of the material handled and on the throughput rate required, the conveyor chain may be manufactured from blank and bent links or forged with pressed links. The chain guide is made of Polyzene or manganese steel depending on the application.
Function - TCG Chain Conveyors have been especially designed for conveying cereals, flour or similar materials. Over the years screw conveyors for specific purposes have been developed. Cement Screw Conveyors and Feeders for concrete batching plants were the first to be industrialised in the early 1970's. Later came light-duty Flour Milling Screw Conveyors with synthetic maintenance-free intermediate bearings.
Heavy-duty Cement Screw Conveyors, as used in the concrete industry, are particularly robust and equipped with self-adjusting stuffing boxes. Extra-heavy duty Screw Conveyors, designed for continuous operation in cement, lime and gypsum processing, come with flanged shaft couplings for easy screw replacement.
Difficult materials with a high moisture content that have a tendency to stick to the centre pipe or flight in traditional screw conveyors, such as sludge or screenings, are successfully handled by Shaftless Screw or Spiral Conveyors with ultra-heavy-duty helicoids flighting.

Function - ZX Telescopic Loading Bellows are suitable for continuous loading with a maximum flow rate of 850m3/h (500 cfm) of bulk material. At the lower end of the Loading Bellow, a special dust skirt is provided for settling on the ship hold or stockpile. The equipment is available with an electric winch only. A spigot on the header can be connected on site to an external de-dusting filter.

Description - The BELLOJET ZC Loading Bellows are used for efficient dust controlled discharging of dry, dusty bulk solids into open lorries / trucks. The spouts are provided with inner tapered cones to contain the flow of material and an outer double bellow to provide for dust removal.
Function - The BELLOJET ZC Telescopic Loading Bellows are suitable for continuous loading with a maximum flow rate of 250m3/h (147 cfm) of bulk material. At the lower end of the Loading Bellow, a special dust skirt seal is provided for settling on the truck skip or stockpile. The Loading Bellow is operated by an electric winch. The fan of the BELLOJET dust filtration system is equipped with a 2.2kW (3.0 HP) fan that increases the efficiency of the filtering elements. Due to an after-shutdown-cleaning-cycle, the filter elements are always in perfect condition at the start of each new loading. The dust filter includes eight cartridges to provide an overall surface area of 10m2 (108 sq ft).

Description - RBB-type FIBC Filing Stations consist of a steel frame and a bag filling unit including an inflatable seal that impedes dust leakage during the filing process.
Function - RBB-type FIBC Filling Stations enable efficient filling of bulk bags. The empty FIBC is attached to the four tensioners in the upper corners of the frame. Then the bag inlet is pulled over the loading spout of the station. The filling procedure starts as soon as the seal around the bag inlet is inflated. Once the FIBC is filled up it will be lifted by a forklift truck and transferred to its further destination once the FIBC has been removed from the steel frame.

Description - SBB-type FIBC Dischargers consist of a steel frame complete with a material discharge hopper and an upper mobile cross bar for lifting of the filled up bag by forklift truck into the Discharger.
Function - SBB is a modular system for discharging Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (Big Bags) in different configurations depending on the application. Easy introduction of the FIBC into the support frame and dust-free discharging along with a variety of options make SBB extremely user-friendly. The four loops of the FIBC are attached to the hooks of the detached cross bar that has previously been laid on top of the FIBC. The cross bar with the attached FIBC is then picked up by a forklift truck and introduced into the frame of the SBB Discharger. Once the FIBC has settled on the rubber seal of the discharge hopper the outlet closing rope of the FIBC can be pulled open through the inspection hatch of the discharge hopper.

Contact UsThe COM Waste Bag Compactor has been developed to meet the requirement of efficiently reducing the volume of emptied bags as they are expelled from special bag emptying machines. At the same time the COM Bag Compactor offers the smallest possible footprint. In this way removal of waste bags is more efficient and time saving.
Description - The COM Bag Compactor for torn empty bags consists of a mild steel or 304/316 stainless steel trough with appropriate surface finishing. The U-profile trough is longitudinally split in half to facilitate replacement of the SINT liner that helps introduction and further compression of the broken bags. The Bag Compactor is equipped with a suitable direct drive unit. At the drive end the compactor is equipped with an end plate fixed to the end flange of the trough for assembly of the end bearing complete with flanged shaft coupling for the bag compacting screw. The other trough end is connected with a tapered pipe that facilitates the progress of the compacted broken bags. At the end of this steel pipe a polyethylene tube for disposal of the waste bags can be fitted.
Function - The COM Waste Bag Compactor receives entire empty bags or bag fragments from a bag emptying device compacting the bags to approximately one eighth of their original volume. Collected in a polyethylene hose that is periodically cut and closed, the waste bags can be easily disposed of.

Contraction of the bellow back to stand-by position starts after a delay of approximately ten seconds in order to allow the filter to evacuate the remaining dust. Once the bellow is fully contracted, the cable limit switch inside the transmission box stops operation. The preset after shut-down cleaning cycle now provides for additional pulse jet cleaning of the filter cartridges for another ten minutes.

Description - The BA Bin Activator is a device of tapered conical shape that due to vibration facilitates material flow from hoppers or silos. It consists of a seamless carbon or stainless steel cone manufactured on a sheet metal lathe, a seamless SINT engineering polymer seal with integrated upper and lower flange, suspensions for connection of the Bin Activator with the silo, as well as one or two electric vibrators.
Function - To fit the BA Bin Activator, the silo cone has to be shorter than usual, leaving a wide outlet section. A flange supplied before or together with the Bin Activator is welded to the silo outlet on site. Special suspensions and a seamless flanged SINT engineering polymer seal form a flexible connection between silo and Bin Activator. One or two electric vibrators fitted to the unit generate vibration of the Bin Activator every time the feeding device beneath the silo is started for material extraction. During operation the Bin Activator describes a gyratory movement which is transmitted to the materials inside the silo. The result is smooth material flow through the Bin Activator outlet into the connected feeder. BA Bin Activators are used in various industrial applications to facilitate discharging of powdery or granular materials from silos or hoppers. The use of this equipment ensures optimum feeding of the material and causing / mass flow / inside the silo and avoiding bridging or rat holing phenomena.

Solids Discharging Equipment
Certain bulk materials cannot be stored in cylindrical silos with a tapered outlet cone because no flow aid would be sufficient to extract them. For some of those materials the outlet cross section of the silo must be increased. Others do not even allow the slightest wall angle in the outlet section and require polygonal shape silos with vertical or even negatively raked walls all the way down to the outlet. As a result, mechanical extracting and feeding devices must be adapted to the cross section of the outlet. We offer a variety of equipment for discharging bulk materials.
As well as Telescopic Loading Bellows (Loading spouts), we offer single, twin-shafted screw feeders (see Screw Conveyors & Feeders) and Multiple Shafted Flood-Fed Screw Feeders (Live Bin Bottoms) in a customised standard design for various applications and for materials as different as flour, bran, wood chippings, sawdust, shredded paper or sludge. In extracting powders, granules and fibres, we offer a wide range of vibrating bin activators.
Bin Activators
At times flowability of certain powders is so poor that discharge from silos assisted by flow aids like aeration pads, pneumatic hammers, hammer blasts or even air cannons is impossible. In such cases a Bin Activator is the ultimate flow aid and extracting device for such materials.
